This app works with iBeacons (Bluetooth transmitters), because of this it will only work inside the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. iPerform is an interactive application on your smartphone working with Bluetooth transmitters called iBeacons that - instead of an informative audio tour - takes you on a physical expedition through the museum, past certain works by Van Gogh. With specific assignments you get a physical experience of the art. On Friday, March 6th, the pilot of the app will be launched and eventually turned into a dance and music improvisation in the Van Gogh museum. This app monitors the users proximity to iBeacons while the app is also in the background, and therefore requires the Bluetooth setting to remain on, and therefore consumes more battery. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. iPerform is designed by WhyNot in collaboration with HearUsHere and Angela Lidderdale.
Requires iOS 7.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
